AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2021 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO BY THE RECOGNITION OF THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (CDOT) GRANT FUNDS FOR $500,000 FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE 112TH AVENUE BRIDGE OVER THE FULTON DITCH AND THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF.

Body

Summary and Background Information

The 112th Avenue Bridge over the Fulton Ditch is located approximately 2,800 feet east of US85 on 112th Avenue. An inspection by COOT in the spring of 2020, found the bridge unsafe. The columns supporting the bridge in the eastbound direction have significant section loss. As a result, the eastbound lanes for the bridge are closed. The City hired Benesch Inc. to complete the design of the new Fulton Bridge. COOT and the Federal Highway Administration has approved the design. These approvals were necessary to receive a $500,000 grant towards construction of the bridge.

This ordinance recognizes the $500,000 grant from CDOT.

May 17th Resolution 2021-41 awarded the contract to Jalisco Int. Inc.
