 Title

A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH HIGH-TRAFFIC HAZARD ROUTES IN COMMERCE CITY

Body

Summary and Background InformationThe Commerce City Revised Municipal Code (“CCRMC”) § 11-1202 allows the City to establish zones with a history of traffic violations or other hazardous conditions.  The City’s traffic violation data supports the establishment of designated zones due to past enforcement measures taken by the Commerce City Police Department in 2022-2023 in these areas. Once established, violators will be subject to double fines to deter dangerous driving practices. The relevant areas were discussed at the October 23, 2023 study session. The maps are attached.

Zone 1: Hwy 2 from East 72nd Avenue - East 79th Avenue, Commerce City, Colorado

Zone 2: Tower Road from East 81st Avenue - East 87th Avenue, Commerce City, Colorado

Zone 3: Hwy 2 from East 88th Avenue - East 95th Avenue, Commerce City, Colorado

Zone 4: Tower Road from East 96th Avenue - East 103rd Avenue, Commerce City, Colorado
