AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2025 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO, BY APPROPRIATING UNENCUMBERED RETAINED EARNINGS IN THE FLEET MANAGEMENT FUND TO BE USED FOR FLEET ACQUISITIONS FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $2,685,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF

Public Works staff provided an update of current vehicle purchases and information regarding fuel savings measures, EV chargers, and the fleet makeup during the February 24, 2025 study session. During this study session, the following recommendations were made:
• Appropriating an additional $1,130,000 for the purchase of 10 police vehicles in 2025 that were not able to be purchased in prior years due to supply chain issues.
• Appropriating an additional $1,555,000 for the replacement of a street sweeper and the purchase of a motor grader and a vac-truck.
The Fleet Management Fund has sufficient unencumbered retained earnings to provide for these vehicle acquisitions, totaling $2,685,000.

Ordinance 2665 is being presented for Council’s consideration to authorize the appropriation of unencumbered retained earnings in the Fleet Management Fund to accommodate the acquisition of the fleet items listed above.
