Title
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 2298 PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZATION OF TEMPORARY OUTDOOR SERVICE AREAS FOR RESTAURANTS AND BARS IN THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO
Body
Summary and Background Information:
This Ordinance will extend the current temporary outdoor service area permit system through September 6,2021. It amends Ordinance 2298 to avoid the automatic expiration of the program on April 30, 2021.
Beginning with Ordinance 2282, passed by Council on June 1, 2020, the City Council authorized the creation of a free temporary permit system to allow bars and restaurants to temporarily expand their outdoor service areas during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Expanded outdoor dining areas enable restaurants to increase space to reach capacity while incorporating social distancing and sanitation practices. Restaurants must still operate in accordance with all relevant local, county, state, and federal health orders.
