AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2014 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO BY THE RECOGNITION OF THE ADAMS COUNTY OPEN SPACE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $345,500 TO BE USED FOR SAND CREEK TRAIL FLOOD REPAIRS AND THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF.

Summary and Background Information: Adams County Open Space has awarded Commerce City Parks & Recreation funds to make repairs to seven damaged areas along the Commerce City section of the Sand Creek Regional Greenway. Damage was caused by flooding and storms during September 9-13, 2013. Funds will be used to repair erosion and bank restoration; seeding and mulching will occur along the bank; metal railings will be removed and replaced; damaged trail will be removed and replaced; as well as other various repairs will be made along the greenway.
