Summary and Background Information:
On November 7, 2012, Planning Commission voted 5-0 to send a favorable recommendation to City Council to amend the LDC to reduce the FAR requirements in straight zone districts and amend the Minor Modification language to allow for the potential administrative reduction to all FAR requirements.
Staff held a study session with Planning Commission on September 4, 2012 and with City Council on September 24, 2012 to discuss the current FAR requirements and receive direction regarding potential amendments. The proposed ordinance reflects the direction that was given during these study sessions. The attached Planning Commission minutes from November 7, 2012, have been provided for the detailed background and discussion.
