Recognition of Earth Day Art Contest winner

Body
Summary and Background Information:
In honor of Earth Day and to continue promoting the city's new trash and recycling service, the city hosted an art contest for youth residents. Students between 4th - 8th grades were invited to submit original works of art that reflect the importance of recycling. City Council judged the 36 submitted pieces and voted on their favorites. The winning art will be displayed on the new solar-powered receptacles going into Pioneer Park and the recreation center. The winner is Joan M. Lopez, a sixth grader from Kearney Middle School.
