Summary and Background Information:
For four consecutive years, the City of Commerce City has received the national Playful Cities designation, which recognizes the city's committment to increase play opportunities for children. As part of this designation, the city holds special play day activities throughout the year, including the annual 4thFest family fun zone. The annual 4thFest is the city's offical Play Day for the KABOOM! award.
This year's free family fun zone, held Wednesday, July 4 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., will feature a variety of opportunities for children and their families to support active living and lifestyles.
Staff Responsible (Department Head): Carolyn Keith, director of parks and recreation.
Staff Member Presenting: Director Keith will be on hand to accept the award.
