A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 5 OF THE DIRECTORY OF CITY FEES AND CHARGES TO REVISE THE FEES CHARGED FOR ORGANIZED EVENTS / TEMPORARY USE PERMITS

Summary and Background Information:
With the adoption of the new fee schedule in May of 2023, the fees for residents applying for an Organized Event/Temporary Use Permit (e.g. a block party) increased significantly. It became evident as applications for summer events began to come in and the fees were applied. The current fee is the cost to the City associated with processing the applications, however, the City wishes to promote these types of community building events by reducing this fee. In addition to amending the fee, language was added to allow for multiple events on different dates, at the same location and with no additional impacts, to be considered under one permit.
