Summary & Background

As stewards of our public spaces, the PRG Division is focused on promoting resident health, safety and education through a variety of relevant programs and services for the community. One of our goals is to continue to activate the core city with more amenities designed to promote fitness and wellness. In 2021 we received a grant from the National Fitness Campaign to install an outdoor fitness court. The Fitness Court is an outdoor bodyweight circuit training center with functional fitness DNA. The best-in-class system provides a full-body workout to adults of all ability levels. With 7 functional fitness zones, the Fitness Court can be used in thousands of ways. The Fitness Court will be installed in Monaco Park, as part of the larger renovation rof the park, providing local residents with a state-of-the art outdoor free fitness facility within walking distance of their homes.

Acting City Manager Rogers will sign the grant agreement with Adams County.  This ordinance accepts the $100,000 Adams County Open Space Grant funds awarded for the project.
