A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF HARDWARE FROM DELL MARKETING L.P.

Summary and Background Information:
The Information Technology Department is seeking to enter into contract with Dell Marketing L.P. for the purchase of computer hardware and peripherals. Commerce City IT supports the city through routine computer replacements to provide staff with reliable and secure computer hardware to support their day to day work tasks and the increasing demands of supporting critical City functions. Dell hardware has proven to be reliable and simple for staff to use and for IT support to manage, creating greater efficiencies for staff. With the new contract, staff will be provided with newer computer models and increased computer system functionality through increased computer speed and storage. This effort aligns with the City Council goal to expand and protect our technology systems by upgrading this critical hardware to increase productivity of staff and protect all technology systems from cyber security threats.
Solicitation Activity: The City will use cooperative purchasing through the State of Colorado NASPO agreement with Dell Marketing L.P. in accordance with the City's procurement policy. This pricing is competitive and includes pre-negotiated discounts.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends moving forward awarding the contract to Dell Technologies subject to finalization of the contract and executed by the Commerce City Manager.
