Recognition of Jared Butler
Body
Summary and Background Information:  The Colorado Professional Golf Association (PGA) Section recognized Jared Butler, a PGA assistant professional at Buffalo Run Golf Course as the 2012 apprentice player of the year.
The Colorado PGA Apprentice Player of the Year Award is presented to a PGA Apprentice based on performance in select, sanctioned golf events. Butler was honored alongside other statewide golf professionals at an awards ceremony earlier this month.
"I'm extremely honored," said Butler. "Golf is my passion and has given me so many opportunities that I am grateful for. This year I played in the Navajo Trail Open, Wyoming Open and the Colorado Open."
As a senior at the University of Wyoming, Butler's best tournament score was a 228 (+12) at the Air Force Falcon invite in Colorado Springs, Colo. Butler also carded a career-best 69 at the Long Beach Del Walker Invite in California. A 2010 graduate of the University of Wyoming, Butler joined Buffalo Run Golf Course in 2011 and also coaches the Prairie View High School golf team.
