RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN ADAMS COUNTY AND THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY FOR THE NOVEMBER 6, 2O12, COORDINATED GENERAL ELECTION

Body
On July 16, 2012, City Council approved Resolution 2012-44 calling for a special election and declaring the city's intent  to participate in the November 6, 2012, coordinated general election.  By approving Resolution 2012-46, Council will approve an intergovernmental agreement with Adams County to participate in the November 6, 2012, coordinated general election.  In accordance with state statutes, political subdivisions, such as Commerce City, are allowed to coordinate with their counties to conduct special elections.  To be allowed to participate in a coordinated election, political subdivisions must have a fully executed intergovernmental agreement with the county clerk and recorder by August 28, 2012; however, the Adams County Commissioners are on a reduced schedule in August, therefore, in order to meet the statutory deadline, the intergovernmental agreement must be returned to Adams County no later than August 16, 2012.
