Title
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY AND THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR 112TH & HAVANA AND 72ND & LOCUST IMPROVEMENTS

Body
Summary & Background
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the City of Commerce City and the Colorado Department of Transportation for 112th & Havana and 72nd & Locust Improvements.

The City applied for a Highway Safety Improvements Program (HSIP) grant in 2020 to make improvements to the intersections of 112th & Havana and 72nd & Locust (see Attachment 1 Project Maps). The improvements will promote safer travel for drivers and pedestrians.

This project proposes to re-stripe the westbound (WB) approach of the intersection to allow for separate left, thru and right turn lanes, and extend the WB thru lane straight thru the intersection before merging it back into the existing thru lane of traffic prior to the railroad tracks. Staff has also discussed this improvement with the Library and gained support for th...
