Summary and Background Information:
The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Adams and Broomfield counties are requesting a proclamation to bring awareness to child abuse prevention for the month of April. CASA is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization that trains and supervises community volunteers to represent the best interests of our most vulnerable citizens - child victims of physical, sexual or emotional abuse and neglect. CASA hosted an event mid-March to bring awareness to the issue and City Council approved a similar proclamation last year.
