Summary and Background Information: As requested by Council, E3 staff has prepared a letter to EPA about the on-going compliance issues at the Suncor refinery. The letter details the monthly permit exceedances and notes the serious Emergency Community and Right To Know (EPCRA) violations. EPCRA violations are triggered when over 500 pounds of a toxic substance is released into the atmosphere.
