Title
A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE 2023 CONCRETE FLATWORK REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROJECT TO SILVA CONSTRUCTION, INC.
Body
Summary & Background
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize a contract with Silva Construction, Inc. to perform the 2023 Concrete Flatwork and Repair Project within the City right-of-way, at a cost of $480,227.48.

Annually, the City puts together a program to replace and repair concrete flatwork in City rights-of-way. The work to be performed under this contract includes removal and replacement of concrete panels, curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb ramps, cross-pans, concrete pads, and related work at locations provided by the Commerce City Public Works Department. Additionally, installation of sidewalk is included where none currently exist at locations where the City has right-of-way to proceed with construction. The proposed 2023 Concrete Flatwork Program recommendations were shared with City Council in a Council Study Session presentation on 10 April 2023 (see Attachment 1 - Presentation and Attachment 2 - Locations of Work).

Silva Construction, Inc. was the lowest, responsible bidder for the 2023 Concrete Flatwork Project. Recommended award of the project is based on the rates proposed by the contractor (totaling $480,227.48) and experience on similar projects. Upon approval of this resolution, the next step in the process will be contract signatures and a Notice to Proceed. Work is planned to begin in June and completed by the end of December.
