Title

A RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO PARTICIPATION BY THE COMMERCE CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE COLORADO INTERGOVERNMENTAL RISK SHARING AGENCY

Body

Summary and Background Information

In 2017, Commerce City (“City”) executed a Cooperation Agreement with the Commerce City Housing Authority  (“Authority”) and as part of the agreement, the City agreed to provide insurance coverage to the Authority through the City’s insurer, Colorado intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA). The City is in the process of negotiating an intergovernmental agreement with the Authority that will facilitate the Authority’s independent operations, and as part of that process the Authority will need to obtain its own insurance coverage. One of CIRSA’s requirements to entertain independent insurance coverage for the Authority is for the City to consent to such coverage by way of City Council Resolution.
