Summary and Background Information:
The Parks, Recreation and Golf (PRG) Department, since 2015, has partnered with multiple entities as part of the Generation Wild Northeast Metro Coalition (NEMC), including Friends of the Front Range Wildlife Refuges, City of Aurora, Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership, United States Fish and Wildlife Service-Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, State of Colorado-Department of Natural Resources, Bluff Lake Nature Center, Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Environmental Learning for Kids, Groundwork Denver, Mile High Youth Corps, and The Urban Farm to provide opportunities to area youth to connect and engage with the outdoors.
NEMC received an additional grant award for $371,000 for two years of programming during 2024 and 2025 as addressed by Resolution 2024-084 and Resolution 2024-121.
