Title
Oakwood’s Vision for Reunion and Proposed Town Hall Discussion

Body
Summary and Background Information: Reunion is a master planned community with influential and course-setting impact to the economic maturity of the City. Initially conceived by Shea Homes in the early 2000’s, Reunion, a 3,138 +/- acre development, provides a variety of housing types, commercial services, and employment opportunities in a combination of creative and stable arrangements to achieve a balanced community. Oakwood has since taken development control of Reunion with the intent to fulfill the buildout of this vision. To date under this guidance, Reunion is at 20-35% buildout per the existing land use approvals.

Oakwood has cultivated a strategic relationship with the City to effectuate the delivery of various investments in the community. Investments range from a variety of housing, key infrastructure, provision of public facilities and services, and the prospective idea of an activity center (Reunion Center and Sports Authority) to serve as an “image-maker” for the City. While there have been success stories and missed opportunities, the complex relationship in the current development environment and critical juncture of the City is one in need of redefining.

The purpose for this discussion is for Oakwood to:
· Better understand Council’s expectations around this strategic relationship for community investment with a future Master Development Agreement;
· Oakwood to share its desired outcome for the delivery of Reunion and Reunion Center;
· Address the prospective idea and the necessary steps to achieve the Reunion Sports Authority; and
· Seek feedback on the information to be shared and community engagement at the Town Hall on April 20.
