A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A BLUE RIBBON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PANEL

Summary and Background Information:  On July 19, 2021, the City Council requested a resolution establishing a Blue Ribbon Economic Development Panel. The resolution creates a temporary panel, as an advisory commission pursuant to Chapter 11 of the City Charter, to be comprised on 11 members plus 2 members of the City Council and 2 alternates. The panel is tasked with meeting for a limited period of time to evaluate and advise the City Council regarding economic development best practices and strategies to attract resident- and visitor-serving businesses and to elevate Commerce City’s profile. Non-council membership is proposed to include representatives of businesses of various sizes and large undeveloped properties, residents with special experience in related fields, and a non-residential Realtor.
