Title
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR BUFFALO RUN IRRIGATION WELL
Body
Summary and Background Information:
Additional irrigation water at Buffalo Run was identified as a need several years ago – drought conditions have become more common from year-to-year and the allotment granted during construction of the golf course is no longer sufficient to maintain the property. To that end, an application was filed with the State of Colorado for an allowance of additional 10% (approximately) and permission was granted; accessing the additional water will require the construction of a new well. A request for bids to drill the new well was released in Q4 of 2024 and Sargent Drilling was selected as the contractor with an award amount of $385,479. Once a notice to proceed is issued the contractor will have 120 days to complete the drilling, which is the first phase of the project. After the well has been drilled and water flow determined, the design of the pump and electrical connections (phase two) can begin. Phase two also involves the purchase and installation of the new pump; approval of phase two will be brought to council at a future date if the threshold is over $250,000.
