Resolution Approving Quitclaim Deed to South Adams County Fire Protection District
Body
Summary and Background Information: As part of the East 104th Avenue Widening Project, the City will be constructing Joliet Street north of 104th Avenue.  Joliet Street will connect into the intersection of Fulton Street and 106th Avenue.  During the acquisition of right-of-way for Joliet Street, the City negotiated with Schlumberger for the acquisition of a remnant parcel that was no longer needed by Schlumberger due to the alignment of Joliet Street.  This remnant parcel is not needed for the construction of Joliet Street and can be conveyed to the adjacent property owner.
The South Adams County Fire Protection District (Fire District) owns property on the east side of the newly acquired Joliet Street right-of-way.  As part of the Joliet Street construction, the City also needs to acquire a portion of property from the Fire District.  Through negotiations with the Fire District, both parties discussed the City's need for the remnant parcel, and the potential to quit claim the remnant parcel to the Fire District.
