Proclamation Declaring April 18-24, 2021 as National Crime Victims Rights Week in Commerce City

Body

This year our Nation will be recognizing National Crime Victim Rights Week (NCRVW) April 18th-24th, 2020.

Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) has challenged the nation to confront and remove barriers to full justice for all victims of crime.  Each year, communities across the country revisit the history of the victims’ rights movement, celebrate the progress made, and recommit themselves to further advancements in the crime victims’ field.

This year’s theme - Support Victims, Build Trust, and Engage Communities - emphasizes the importance of leveraging community support to help victims of crime.

This year’s colors are Pink, Purple, and Yellow.

In recognition of NCVRW, a ribbon was created and will be issued to all personnel.  During NCVRW, April 18th - 24th, all Commerce City Police Department personnel will be required to wear the pin.  The pin shall be worn above the nameplate and is the only pin that may be displayed during this week.  All personnel is encouraged to wear the pin throughout the month of April.
