Summary and Background Information: The City of Commerce City is re-applying for the Playful City USA award. The city has been awarded this designation the last five years, one of 25 communities nationwide to receive that honor. Sponsored by KaBoom!, the Playful City USA award recognizes the commitment of local governments to making play a priority and using innovative programs to get children active, playing and healthy.
As part of this year's application process, the organization is requesting a letter of support from the mayor. Attached please find a draft letter for your approval, which acknowledges council's support for this award designation.
