A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY RENTAL AND MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO THE COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEFENSE PROJECT

Summary and Background Information:
The City Council in February of 2024, allocated the remainder of the City’s American Rescue Plan Act funding towards various initiatives, primarily targeting improvements in the Core City under the now ACT Program. Emergency Rental and Mortgage Assistance was identified as a major component of the ACT Program, and $1,600,000.00 was allocated for this category. City staff has determined that partnering with the Community Economic Defense Project will be in the best interest of the City's residents to facilitate the emergency rental and mortgage assistance program.
The cost to the City of the Project will exceed $250,000.00 and, pursuant to the City’s procurement policies and the City Manager’s commitment to the City Council, the City Council must approve any procurement in excess of $250,000.00.
