Summary and Background Information:
East 83rd Avenue and Tower Road has been identified as needing traffic signals. Bids were received from W.L. Contractors, Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., and Morton Electric, Inc. Construction is anticipated to start immediately. The contractor will have 90 working days for construction. A Request for Bids (RFB) was posted on the City’s website and the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System. Three valid bids were received on July 9, 2020 - with W.L. Contractors providing the lowest qualified/responsive bid:

Morton Electric, Inc. $ 366,665.18
Sturgeon Electric $ 445,514.00

Funding Source: The total cost of this contract is $342,741.00. This project is funded through a Capital Improvement Project Fund reimbursed by a Public Improvements Agreement with DIA Tech Center Filing 10 & Filing 12. The Developer, DIA Tech Center, LLC, submitted Cash in Lieu payment of $470,000.00 for the traffic signal at Tower Road and East 83rd Avenue.
Staff Recommendation: Approve Contract with W.L. Contractors to install new traffic signals at 83rd Avenue and Tower Road.
