Title
SECOND AND FINAL READING OF AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND REPLACING SECTION 2-3004 OF THE COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE IN ORDER TO CONSOLIDATE PROVISIONS DEFINING THE BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS (BBCA)
Body
The purpose of this and related ordinances is to update the city’s building code, adopt changes made in the various 2021 editions of the International Codes, apply city-specific revisions to the adopted codes, and to simplify, consolidate, and clarify the city’s building code support functions such as appeals, violations, contractor licenses, fees and third-party services.
Summary & Background
Currently, provisions defining the BBCA can be found in two chapters of the Revised Municipal Code with conflicting requirements. To ensure consistency, BBCA-related provisions have been consolidated into Chapter 5, entitled “Buildings and Building Regulations.” The replaced Section 2-3004 of Article III - Boards and Commissions acknowledges the establishment of the board but references Section 5-21 for its requirements.
