Title
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE REVISED COMMERCE CITY STORM DRAINAGE AND TECHNICAL CRITERIA MANUAL
Body
The purpose of this resolution is to adopt the revised Commerce City Storm Drainage and Technical Criteria Manual. The City desires to update the current criteria to meet current standards for hydrology, hydraulics, structures, storage, and stormwater quality to establish a more modern approach to managing stormwater facilities within the City.
Summary & Background
The City is responsible for reviewing all drainage studies, plans, and specifications for drainage improvements being proposed within the City. The current Criteria Manual was last updated in 1989. The purpose of the new criteria is to establish minimum storm drainage criteria for the public safety, health, comfort, convenience, welfare, and economic well-being of the residents and owners of property within the City.
This Criteria Manual presents the policies and minimum technical criteria for the planning, analysis, design and maintenance of storm drainage systems in the City and incorporates by reference the Mile High Flood District’s Urban Storm Drainage Storm Criteria Manual, Volumes 1, 2, and 3.
City Council received a Study Session presentation on 12 October 2020, regarding the need/requirement to update the Commerce City Storm Drainage and Technical Criteria Manual.
The updated criteria was also referred out to the development community and other stakeholders - staff received minimal feedback.
