Title
Proclamation Declaring October 7, 2022 as National Manufacturing Day in Commerce City, Colorado
Body
Summary and Background Information: National Manufacturing Day is observed annually on the first Friday in October. We celebrate those who proudly stand behind our goods and services made in America. Americans continue to develop products and unlock new technologies that grow our economy. They create jobs through entrepreneurship, and their competitiveness revitalizes American manufacturing.
On National Manufacturing Day, more than 718,000 American manufacturers will take up the important work of producing goods in the U.S. and in doing so inspire our young people to pursue careers in manufacturing and engineering. Today’s science, technology, engineering, and math graduates will power the next chapter of American production and innovation, and harnessing their potential is an economic imperative.
In support of passing a proclamation for National Manufacturing Day, staff will be joined by Glenn Plagens, CEO of Manufacturers Edge; and Janel Highfill, Associate Vice President and Deb Craven, Dean of Instruction at Front Range Community College.
