An Ordinance Amending Section 10-3002 of the Commerce City Revised Municipal Code Relating to Illegal Discharges

Summary and Background Information:  In order to comply with requirements of the Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS), the term "firefighting activities" must be amended due to the fact it is broad enough to allow discharges into the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) that violate the City's CDPS permit.  The code change prevents undesirable discharges into the MS4 related to non-emergency firefighting activities.  Therefore, the above term needs to be amended to reflect "emergency firefighting activities."  The attached email from the South Adams Fire Protection District indicates that they understand the proposed changes and will comply.
