Title

CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS FACILITY

Body

Summary and Background Information

The applicant, Time to Change Community Corrections Facility, has requested a renewal of the Conditional Use Permit originally approved in 2010 at 4901 Krameria Street.  The applicant is not requesting an increase to the number of clients allowed at the facility or the type of client that can be treated.  All of the conditions placed on the original Conditional Use Permit are proposed for the renewal application with the exception of the date for the next renewal being changed from 5 years to 7 years.  Additional time before the next renewal is based upon the staff review of the Police Calls for service and the compliance with all of the existing conditions.  In the previous 5 years City Staff have not received any negative comments regarding the use on the subject property.

Staff Recommendation

On August 4, 2015, the Planning Commission held a public hearing, took testimony, and voted (5-0) to forward the Conditional Use Permit Renewal request to City Council with a favorable recommendation, subject to the findings of fact and 6 conditions.

Alternative::

One option would be for City Council to approve the request as submitted by the applicant; a second option would be to approve the request subject to conditions; a third option would be for City Council to deny the request.
