Title
SECOND AND FINAL READING OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE (CCRMC) SECTION 2-2001 TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS FROM TWO TO THREE A MONTH AND DECREASE THE NUMBER OF STUDY SESSIONS FROM TWO TO ONE A MONTH
Body
Summary and Background Information:
Section 2-2001 of the Commerce City Revised Municipal Code (the “Code”) describes the times, place, and number of regular meetings of the City Council. Council is not permitted to take action at study sessions and the volume of business that City Council must address at a regular meeting has increased, leading to very long regular meetings and the inability to meaningfully address other business and take action. This has led to a need to consider increasing the time available at regular meetings or to add additional regular meetings to the calendar on a regular basis to address the business of the City. This ordinance will increase the number of regular meetings to three a month, and decrease the number of study sessions to one a month. Council may still move as a body to change the location or time
