Title
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR REPLACEMENT OF PEORIA STREET BRIDGE OVER THE LITTLE BURLINGTON DITCH TO EDGE CONTRACTING, INC.
Body
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize award of a contract for replacement of Peoria Street Bridge over the Little Burlington Ditch to Edge Contracting, Inc. The amount of the contract is $774,954.69.
Summary & Background
The Peoria Street Bridge is located approximately 50 feet south of East 112th Avenue. In 2016, the bridge underwent emergency maintenance for the collapse of the corrugated metal back wall supports. The existing steel girders have moderate to heavy corrosion throughout the structure and the steel H-piles are heavily corroded. The steel bridge structure has continued to rust and decay and has been determined by a Structural Engineer as needing to be replaced.
In regards to the bidding process, a request for bids (RFB) was posted on the City’s website and on the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System. Three valid bids were received on 18 October. Edge Contracting Inc. was the low bidder for the project.
