Title
FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2022 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO, BY RECOGNIZING CERTAIN APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GENERAL FUND, POLICE DONATIONS FUND, AND GRANTS FUND, TOTALING $2,289,902.66, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF
Body
Summary and Background Information:
At the end of 2021, the City had various donations and grants funds with remaining balances at the end of the fiscal year. This "Carryover Ordinance" is being brought forward to carryover remaining balances of donations and grants from 2021 to 2022 for continued expenditures on programs related to those donations and grants. The City does not budget for donations and grants as part of the originally adopted annual budget. Donations and grants are appropriated as part of a "Carryover Ordinance" such as this or as part of additional stand-alone ordinances when grants awards are received throughout the year. Staff is asking for these remaining donations and grants funds to be re-appropriated in the applicable funds for their intended programmatic purposes.
