Body

Summary and Background Information

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is requesting approval for the annexation zoning of roughly 13 acres that is the future location of the Commerce City - 72nd station on the North Metro Rail Line. The property to be annexed and zoned is located between E. 72nd Avenue and E. 70th Avenue as well as west of the O’Brian Canal. The property is currently zoned with an Adams County Industrial - 2 zoning designation and is requested to be rezoned to Commerce City Public. The subject property of this application is requested to be annexed via the AN-236-16 proceedings.

The submittal of this application is the culmination of collaborative efforts between RTD and the City of Commerce City. The proposed annexation and zoning will bring the Commerce City - 72nd station property into the city allowing for the development of the property.
