Summary and Background Information:
On June 17, 2024, City Council adopted Resolution 2024-073 and Resolution 2024-074 which adopted Bob's Rules of Order as the governing rules for City Council meetings and City Council's boards and commissions meetings. This set of rules governs how meetings are conducted.
From Bob's Rules of Order: "'Bob’s Rules of Order' is intended as a simplified set of rules better suited to manage Colorado local government meetings. Although Bob’s Rules of Order calls upon some of the basic concepts offered by Robert’s Rules, Bob’s Rules of Order pares down the available motions to those essential to advance the goal of running an efficient public meeting for Colorado local government."
Bob Widner, the creator of Bob's Rules of Order, will provide an overview of Bob's Rules of Order. The City's boards and commissions members were also invited to attend so all governing bodies can be on the same page on how meetings are to be conducted.
