Summary and Background Information: Commerce City has acquired many of its future park sites in the northern portion of the city through the development process as part of the Prairieways Action Plan, the city's parks, trails and open space master plan for the Northern Range. This 107.97- acre parcel that is part of the future Second Creek Community Park, is one of the few remaining sites the city does not own. Securing this community park site will bring the city one step closer to meeting the goals of the Prairieways Action Plan.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends City Council approve Ordinance No. 1946 on first reading, allowing the city to accept and recognize funds applied for and awarded by Adams County Open Space to fund the future Second Creek Community Park Acquisition project.
