Summary and Background Information

The Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) saw a need to establish a Co-Response Program that pairs officers with behavioral health professionals to provide prompt on-scene assessment, stabilization, referrals and follow-up for those in-need. As a result of this need, CCPD applied for grant funding in June 2024 from Adams County.

 

In August 2024, CCPD was notified that the City of Commerce City was awarded $261,250 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds from Adams County to support the establishment of a Co-Response Program.
