Title

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BASELINE ENGINEERING CORPORATION TO PROVIDE PLANNING SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT

Body

Summary and Background Information

The City contracted with Baseline Engineering Corporation in March of 2022 to provide contract planning services to the Community Development Department.  Since that date Baseline has provided a staff planner for approximately 20 hours a week.  That planner has been primarily focused on the review of development plans including some of the more complex that require extensive review. The contract, as subsequently amended, was not to exceed $250,000 and is also set to expire on April 29, 2022.  Upon review of the contract accounting it has been determined that the original contract amount has been also exceeded by approximately $40,000.

Staff is desirous of extending this contract through June 30,  2022 to enable the planner to complete the work on several significant planning projects that are currently approaching the last approval stages.  To do so it is requested that the contract be extended through June 30, 2022 and that the contract budget be increased by $75,000 to a total not to exceed amount of $325,000.
