Title
City Council At-Large Vacancy Appointment Process Determination
Body
Summary and Background Information:
Council Vacancy applicants received by the deadline and met the requirements of Charter Sec. 4.4 are attached to this packet. City Council will need to determine how it would like to determine which applicant to appoint. Council Policy #CP-21 states that appointments will generally made by written submissions, but Council may determine other methods of evaluating applicants. City Council will need to determine if it would like to interview applicants, how much time to give each applicant, if Council would like a reception to meet and greet the applicants, and how Council would like to conduct voting on the applicants. Council will vote on applicants and the City Clerk will read the name of the Council Member and the applicant for which they voted. Council can determine if applicants that receive 0 or the fewest voted per round be eliminated or conduct a ranked choice vote method.
City Council will need to determine if a special meeting on October 24, 2022 will be held before or after the study session scheduled for that night.
