SECOND AND FINAL READING OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, ARTICLE I OF THE COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING THE 2020 COLORADO MODEL TRAFFIC CODE AS REVISED

Body

Summary and Background Information:  The general assembly of the State Legislature has recognized the conflicts between the state's traffic laws and municipal ordinances lead to inconsistencies in the movement of traffic.  The Model Traffic Code (MTC) provides uniform statewide driving rules to protect Colorado drivers and pedestrians.  The Police Department is currently operating in accordance with the MTC revised in 2010.  The MTC 2020 was developed through cooperative efforts of both state and local governments, the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Laws and Ordinances and CDOT.  The ordinance to adopt the 2020 MTC includes city specific amendments and deletions.
