Summary and Background Information: Kaiser is dedicated to improving the health of people living and working in their communities and invited Commerce City to apply for their Walk & Bike to Work Month grant. The Commerce City Wellness Committee applied for and has received an award to fund their Ready, Set, GO program. Instead of a Bike to Work event, the Wellness Committee will sponsor seminars once a week for four weeks to educate and provide tools to staff members in order to "Get Ready" to safely walk and bike throughout the years to come.

First seminar - a representative from FootBalance will focus on foot health information, provide a complete foot analysis and create on-the-spot custom molded insoles for 70 employees.

Second seminar - a representative from The Mindful Bike will provide a "Bike Show" highlighting three types of commuter bikes for the everyday cyclist. Following the conclusion of the seminar, three attendees names will be drawn and presented one of the three bikes and a helmet.

Third seminar - a representative from A Denver Run House will display several types of running shoes and discuss the difference between shoes and which would be appropriate for different activities. At the conclusion of the seminar, 25 attendees names will be drawn with each person presented with a $100 certificate from Denver Run House and a pair of running socks.

Fourth Seminar - a representative from Kaiser Permanente will discuss activity specific safety tips, bike maintenance, provide trail maps, and discuss future involvement and the potential for the creation of a walking and/or biking club.
