Title

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE PHOENIX LIMITED PARTNERSHIP, A WYOMING LIMITED PARTNERSHIP

Body

Summary and Background Information

As Commerce City continues to grow and develop, the need to expand the working area for the Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) increases. In order to maintain the high level of public safety and responsiveness that the community needs and expects, the City must secure a larger, temporary space to house additional police operations until a permanent solution can be implemented. Leasing an appropriate office building as a temporary substation will provide the necessary space and resources for CCPD to better accommodate increasing operational needs while the City works to design and construct a new, purpose-built substation.

Staff is seeking approval from Council to enter into a lease for available space that will be suitable for substation use.
