Body
Summary and Background Information: In 2011, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) began designing a new bridge on 104th Avenue over the South Platte River. The City of Commerce City, the City of Thornton, and Adams County approached CDOT and sought the reconstruction to include the widening for the future build-out width of 104th Avenue. In 2012, the design was revised to include the additional widening, and discussions began for the entities to pay for the extra cost of the widening. Construction is expected to begin in 2013.
