Summary and Background Information:
In September of 2020, the City entered into an agreement for professional services (not to exceed $47,000) with Z Design Group, LLC for conceptual site planning and design services for the clubhouse and maintenance areas at Buffalo Run Golf Course. In June of 2021, Z Design Group provided staff with the Buffalo Run Golf Course Site Planning & Design Study Summary Report. In February of 2022, Z Design Group provided an updated budget analysis for the proposed clubhouse and maintenance areas concept at Buffalo Run Golf Course. On April 25, 2022, staff presented the Buffalo Run Expansion project for the clubhouse and maintenance areas to city council. City Council provided feedback on the proposed expansion requesting the inclusion of a rooftop patio. Following the April 25 Study Session, Z Design Group provided an estimate to include a rooftop patio. On June 20, 2022, City Council approved Ordinance 2401 on second and final reading transferring $13,677,240 from the unencumbered fund balance in the general fund to the capital improvements and preservation plan fund (CIPP) for costs associated with the Buffalo Run Golf clubhouse and maintenance facility expansion project to include new pavilion with rooftop patio.
At the City’s direction, the purposed professional services agreement directs that Z Design Group will provide final design planning and architectural drawings for the redevelopment of the clubhouse and maintenance areas at Buffalo Run Golf Course. After the design is complete, a full set of construction documents (i.e. architectural drawings/plans) and construction administration will be provided as described in contract scope of services for an amount not to exceed $628,355.00 (quoted price $483,350 + 30% contingency $145,005).The contingency is for known exclusions from quote price that may require additional work.
