Summary and Background Information:
The City’s Consultant (WSB, Inc.) is performing design services to assist the City in achieving safety improvements on Highway 2 from E 72nd Ave to E 112th Ave. The goal of this project is to improve safety for the segment of Highway 2 between East 72nd Avenue and East 112th Avenue by installing a median treatments and/or barriers along the middle of the roadway. The median safety improvements are to be implemented within the existing footprint of the roadway.
The presentation provides options for median treatments ranging from rumble strips and delineators to barriers and raised medians. The cost of the medians treatments vary significantly. The presentation breaks the project into segments with prices developed by segment. Once feedback has been provided by Council during the Study Session, staff will direct the consultant to proceed with design.
