Summary & Background
Annually, the City advertises for and awards a contract for concrete flatwork and concrete repair in the City rights-of-way (ROW). The Scope of Work to be performed under this contract includes removal and replacement of concrete pavement panels, curb, gutter, sidewalk (located in the Core City), ADA curb ramps, cross-pans, concrete pads, and related work at locations provided by the Commerce City Public Works Department. In addition, this program installs sidewalks at locations where none currently exist in the City ROW. See attached map for preliminary scope. It should be noted that the contract includes $250,000 for additional work yet to be determined - including additional concrete pavement panels.
The City advertised its request for bids regarding this project, from March 14, 2024 to March 28, 2024. The City received six (6) bids from contractors. The lowest responsible bidder was Gold Star Concrete, Inc., with a bid of $545,406.00. This contract is for one year with an option to renew up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods depending on the performance of the contractor.
