Summary and Background Information:
Since award of FHUs design contract in September 2015, changes have occurred to the scope of services. The most significant change was incorporating Highway 2 widening north of 112th Ave. into the scope of this project. The decision to incorporate this scope was based upon the interface between Highway 2 and intersections at Potomac Street and 112th Avenue for access to the new recreation center. A contract contingency of $172,000 was included in the initial council resolution to approve this contract; however, the proposed increase exceeds this amount by $151,495, thus requiring additional council approval.
